ITC To Increase FPOs To 4,000 In Next 4 Years Linking Crore Farmers

  • ITC is expanding its network of FPOs, further aiming to connect one crore farmers in the next 4-5 years and scaling up sourcing of fruits and vegetables through this platform, said its Agri Business Division CEO S Ganesh Kumar.

ITC Ltd. plans to expand its Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to 4,000 over the next four years, aiming to connect with 1 crore farmers. This initiative is part of ITC's strategy to enhance agricultural productivity, improve market access, and promote sustainable farming practices. The company currently works with over 2,000 FPOs, impacting around 2.5 million farmers across India. By scaling up, ITC intends to foster rural development, increase farmers' income, and ensure a more resilient agricultural supply chain. This expansion will also focus on integrating technology and innovation to address challenges like climate change and resource scarcity, thereby supporting the overall growth of the agricultural sector.
