In a recent interview on the "Foul Territory" podcast, former Los Angeles Angels infielder David Eckstein criticized the team's policy of having players arrive at the ballpark extremely early, suggesting that this practice contributed to player fatigue and injuries. Eckstein, who played for the Angels from 2001 to 2004, specifically mentioned that the requirement to be at the stadium by 1 p.m. for a 7 p.m. game led to long days and increased the risk of injuries due to overtiredness. He believes that this early arrival mandate, which he claims was stricter than other teams, played a role in the Angels' ongoing struggles with player health and performance.
