The Nigerian government, through the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has announced the initiation of direct flights between Nigeria and Brazil, aiming to enhance economic, tourism, and bilateral relations between the two nations. This development follows a successful Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) signed in 2021, which has paved the way for airlines to operate direct flights. The minister highlighted that this route would not only boost trade but also foster stronger ties, with the first flight expected to commence soon after the announcement made on April 13, 2024.
