The AAA projects that over 42 million Americans will travel during the Memorial Day weekend, marking a record high and a 7% increase from the previous year, as reported by Yahoo Lifestyle. This surge in travel is attributed to lower gas prices and a strong economy, with an estimated 37.6 million people opting to travel by car, a 6% increase from last year. Air travel is also expected to see a significant rise, with 3.51 million travelers, up by 11% from 2022, while other modes of transportation like buses, cruises, and trains will see about 1.13 million users, a 20% increase. The busiest travel times are predicted to be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, with the best times to travel being before 1 p.m. on Thursday and before noon on Friday.
