President Donald Trump is resurrecting the travel ban policy from his first term, signing a proclamation Wednesday night.

The ban, which was initially implemented in 2017, targets nations such as Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Yemen, North Korea, Venezuela, and several others. Trump's decision to reinstate the ban came after it had been lifted by President Joe Biden on his first day in office. The former president argued that the ban was necessary to protect the United States from potential terrorist threats and to ensure the safety of American citizens. Critics of the ban, however, argue that it is discriminatory and targets predominantly Muslim countries.
