Fewer than half of Americans are planning to travel this summer, with costs and lack of interest topping the reasons they aren't.

A recent survey by Bankrate.com revealed that a significant number of Americans are planning to finance their summer vacations using credit cards, with 22% of respondents indicating they would use credit to fund their trips. The survey highlighted that while credit cards offer rewards and convenience, they also pose risks such as accruing debt if balances are not paid off promptly. Financial experts advise travelers to use credit cards wisely by paying off balances in full each month to avoid interest charges, and to consider the impact of vacation spending on their overall financial health. The survey also noted that younger adults, particularly those aged 18-34, are more likely to use credit for vacation expenses compared to older generations.
