Brazil has filed a lawsuit against the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD for allegedly subjecting workers to conditions "analogous to slavery" at its factory in the northeastern state of Bahia. The company has yet to respond to the allegations but has previously stated its commitment to ethical labor practices.
