Brazil has filed a lawsuit against the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD for allegedly subjecting workers to conditions "analogous to slavery" at its factory in the northeastern state of Bahia. The lawsuit, initiated by the Brazilian Labor Prosecutor's Office, claims that BYD failed to provide adequate safety equipment, subjected workers to excessive overtime, and housed them in substandard living conditions.
