The CDC is recommending all travelers be fully vaccinated, following an outbreak linked to a flight that landed in Denver.
The CDC has issued a warning to travelers to ensure they are fully vaccinated against measles following the identification of measles cases linked to international air travel. Two individuals, one who traveled on a flight from Frankfurt, Germany, to Chicago, Illinois, and another from Abu Dhabi, UAE, to Chicago, may have exposed fellow passengers to the highly contagious virus. The CDC recommends that travelers check their vaccination status and get vaccinated if necessary, as measles can spread easily in close quarters like airplanes. The agency also advises those who may have been exposed to monitor for symptoms and seek medical attention if they develop signs of measles.
