  • Here's my review of the Thompson Savannah, a modern space embracing the spirited atmosphere of Georgia's most historic city. It's located right next to the Savannah River in the city's Eastern Wharf district, a short walk or ride from the historic district.
The Thompson Savannah, located in the Eastern Wharf neighborhood of Savannah, Georgia, offers a luxurious stay with a blend of historical charm and modern amenities. Opened in 2021, the hotel features 193 rooms and suites with a design that reflects the city's maritime history through nautical-inspired decor, including porthole windows and brass fixtures. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of the Savannah River from many rooms, and the hotel's rooftop bar, Bar Julian, provides a stunning setting for cocktails with views of the river and the city skyline. The hotel also boasts a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, Fleeting, where Chef Victoria Shore crafts dishes that highlight local ingredients. Additional amenities include a spacious fitness center, a saltwater pool, and a spa offering treatments like the "Gullah Geechee Massage." The Thompson Savannah not only provides a high-end lodging experience but also serves as a cultural hub with its art installations and proximity to Savannah's historic district.
