  • Wrexham curing their away day blues was an "outstanding" factor in their latest promotion. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's Red Dragons had picked up just 13 points from their first 12 away games of the League One campaign. Wrexham's season hit a worrying point in February when they lost at struggling rivals Shrewsbury, who went on to be relegated.

Wrexham's manager, Phil Parkinson, emphasized the importance of overcoming their away game struggles to secure promotion in the National League, highlighting that their performance on the road has been a significant factor holding them back. Despite a strong home record, Wrexham has only managed to secure 17 points from 16 away matches, a stark contrast to their 40 points from 17 home games. Parkinson stressed the need for his team to replicate their home form in away fixtures, particularly as they approach crucial matches against teams like Boreham Wood and Dagenham & Redbridge. He acknowledged the challenge of playing against well-organized defenses away from home but remains confident that with the right mentality and performance, Wrexham can improve their away record and push for promotion.
