Kids eat only 'junk food' so man with cancer will not travel with them

The article from Fox News discusses a study published in the journal Nature that found children's consumption of junk food can lead to the development of cancer-causing genetic mutations in their DNA. However, the study also discovered that these mutations do not appear to be passed down to the children's offspring. Researchers at the University of Cambridge conducted experiments on mice, feeding one group a healthy diet and another an unhealthy "Western" diet high in fat and sugar. The mice on the unhealthy diet developed precancerous polyps in their intestines and showed genetic changes linked to cancer. In contrast, the offspring of these mice did not inherit the same genetic mutations, suggesting that while junk food can increase an individual's cancer risk, it does not directly affect the genetic health of future generations.
