Jesse Winker, the New York Mets' outfielder, was placed on the injured list due to a rib injury sustained during a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 17, 2023. The injury occurred when Winker was attempting to catch a ball and collided with the outfield wall, resulting in what was described as a "right proximal intercostal strain." The Mets made this announcement on April 18, 2023, and in a corresponding move, they recalled outfielder Tim Locastro from Triple-A Syracuse to take Winker's spot on the roster.
