One of the Largest Yayoi Kusama Exhibits in the World Opens This Week in Australia
- Now, one of the largest celebrations of Kusama's dotty world will debut at Melbourne 's National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). It will be the largest Australian retrospective of her work and one of her biggest shows ever exhibited globally.
The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) in Melbourne, Australia, is hosting the largest exhibition ever of Yayoi Kusama's work, titled "Yayoi Kusama: Life is the Heart of a Rainbow." This extensive showcase, running from December 15, 2024, to April 21, 2025, features over 180 works spanning seven decades of Kusama's career, including paintings, sculptures, installations, and her famous Infinity Mirror Rooms. The exhibition highlights her evolution from her early works in Japan to her international acclaim, showcasing her use of polka dots, nets, and pumpkins, as well as her more recent works. It also includes a new Infinity Mirror Room created specifically for this show, emphasizing her ongoing influence and innovation in contemporary art.
