On Memorial Day, severe weather across the U.S. led to significant travel disruptions, with hundreds of flights grounded, particularly affecting Orlando and Denver. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported ground stops at both Orlando International Airport and Denver International Airport due to thunderstorms, causing delays and cancellations. In Orlando, a ground stop was issued at 2:45 p.m. ET, while Denver experienced a ground stop from 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. local time. The disruptions were part of a broader pattern of weather-related travel chaos over the holiday weekend, with the FAA also issuing ground stops in Atlanta and Charlotte the previous day.
