Solar panels 'to cut leisure centre running costs'

The installation of solar panels at the Exmouth Leisure Centre in Devon, England, has significantly reduced the facility's energy costs and carbon footprint. The 288 solar panels, installed on the roof of the centre, generate approximately 100,000 kWh of electricity annually, which is enough to power the entire facility. The project, funded by a £150,000 grant from the European Regional Development Fund, has resulted in annual savings of around £20,000 on energy bills. The initiative not only helps the leisure centre become more sustainable but also contributes to the local community's efforts to combat climate change.
