Nvidia CEO sees no evidence of AI chip diversion into China

Nvidia's hardware is too large to be easily smuggled across borders and its customers are aware of the rules and self-monitoring, Huang told Bloomberg.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has expressed concerns about the potential diversion of the company's AI chips to China, despite U.S. export restrictions aimed at preventing such transfers. In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Huang highlighted the challenges of enforcing these restrictions, particularly with the upcoming release of Nvidia's new Blackwell AI chip. He noted that while Nvidia complies with all export regulations, the "diffusion rule" makes it difficult to control where chips end up after initial sale. Huang emphasized Nvidia's commitment to working with the U.S. government to address these issues, but acknowledged the complexity of preventing unauthorized re-exportation of their technology.
