Electric air taxi Archer says it's partnering with United Airlines to fly New Yorkers to and from NYC airports in as little as 5 minutes

FAA clearance is still pending, though.
Archer Aviation, in partnership with United Airlines, has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval to begin testing its electric air taxi service between New York City and its airports, marking a significant step towards launching commercial operations by 2025. The service aims to drastically reduce travel times, offering a 10-minute flight from Manhattan to Newark Liberty International Airport compared to the usual 45-60 minute car ride. The electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, named Midnight, can carry four passengers plus a pilot and is designed for short, urban trips. This development follows Archer's successful test flights in California and aligns with broader industry efforts to introduce sustainable, efficient urban air mobility solutions.
