A passenger with a case of measles traveled on a train from New York to Washington D.C. last week, Amtrak confirmed on Wednesday.
Amtrak has confirmed that a passenger who traveled on the Northeast Regional Train 180 from Washington, D.C. to New York's Penn Station on May 2, 2024, was later diagnosed with measles. The individual was on the train from 3:30 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. Amtrak is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to identify and notify passengers who may have been exposed to the measles virus during this time. The CDC recommends that unvaccinated passengers who were on the train monitor for symptoms until May 23, 2024, and seek medical attention if symptoms develop.
