Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Somalia's decision to ban Taiwanese travelers, describing the move as "unfriendly and discriminatory" and lacking any scientific basis. The ban, which was announced by Somalia's Ministry of Health on April 20, 2022, prohibits entry to travelers from Taiwan, along with several other countries, due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19. Taiwan's Foreign Ministry emphasized that the country has effectively managed the pandemic and questioned the rationale behind Somalia's decision, suggesting it might be influenced by political considerations rather than public health concerns. The ministry called on Somalia to reconsider the ban and treat Taiwanese travelers fairly.
