Jet2, a UK-based leisure airline, anticipates a strong full-year profit, projecting a pre-tax profit between £480 million and £520 million for the fiscal year ending March 2023, a significant increase from the £275.5 million reported the previous year. This optimistic forecast is driven by robust demand for leisure travel, with the company experiencing a 47% increase in passengers to 4.4 million in the first half of the fiscal year, and forward bookings for the summer season also showing strong growth. Despite challenges such as rising fuel costs and operational disruptions, Jet2 has managed to maintain a high load factor of 89.3% and has implemented measures to mitigate the impact of these issues, including hedging fuel prices and expanding its fleet and workforce to meet the growing demand.
