Fewer people flew through Charlotte Douglas Airport within the first few months of this year, compared to 2024.
Charlotte Douglas International Airport experienced a significant reduction in flight delays and cancellations in June 2023 compared to the previous year, with delays dropping from 32% to 20% and cancellations decreasing from 4.5% to 1.4%. This improvement is attributed to better weather conditions and fewer staffing issues. The airport, a major hub for American Airlines, also saw an increase in passenger traffic, serving over 4.3 million passengers in June, up from 4.1 million the previous year. Despite these improvements, the airport still faces challenges, including ongoing construction projects aimed at enhancing its infrastructure to handle growing demand.
