Katy Perry and five other celebrities launched to space today on a short flight aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket and capsule.

On June 4, 2024, Blue Origin successfully completed its NS-25 mission, marking the company's return to space after a hiatus since August 2022. The mission, launched from West Texas, carried six passengers, including a historic all-female crew consisting of Ed Dwight, the first Black astronaut candidate, and five women: Carol Schaller, Gopi Thotakura, Sylvia Acevedo, Lauren Sanchez, and Ken Hess. This flight not only highlighted Blue Origin's commitment to diversity but also reignited the company's efforts in space tourism, with the crew experiencing a few minutes of weightlessness and panoramic views of Earth. The successful mission is a significant step for Blue Origin as it aims to increase the frequency of its New Shepard rocket launches.
