Summer Travel Too Expensive For One Quarter Of Americans

A new survey shows that about 25% of U.S. adults do not plan to travel this summer, and most say it's because they cannot afford a vacation.
According to a recent survey by The Vacationer, about 25% of Americans find summer travel too expensive and plan to stay home this year, marking a slight increase from last year's 23%. The survey, conducted among 1,015 U.S. adults, revealed that financial constraints are a significant barrier, with many citing the rising costs of travel as a deterrent. Despite this, a majority still plan to travel, with 75% intending to take at least one trip, and 44% planning multiple trips. Popular destinations include beaches, national parks, and international locales like Europe and Mexico. The survey also highlighted a generational divide, with younger adults more likely to travel than older ones, and a notable trend towards budget-conscious travel options such as road trips and staying with friends or family.
