  • Buffett said that some of his worst mistakes over the years were the investments and deals that he didn't make.

Warren Buffett, known as the "Oracle of Omaha," has made numerous investments through Berkshire Hathaway, with varying degrees of success. His best investments include American Express, which he bought during a scandal in 1964 and saw a 40-fold increase in value, and Coca-Cola, where a $1.3 billion investment in 1988 grew to be worth over $24 billion by 2018. Other successful investments include See's Candies, which has generated significant cash flow, and Apple, which became Berkshire's largest holding. On the other hand, Buffett's worst investments include Berkshire's textile business, which he bought in 1965 and eventually shut down in 1985, and Dexter Shoe, a 1993 acquisition that led to a significant loss. Additionally, investments in Tesco and IBM did not meet expectations, with Tesco losing nearly $444 million and IBM failing to deliver the anticipated returns. Despite these setbacks, Buffett's overall track record remains strong, showcasing his ability to identify and capitalize on long-term value.
