With over 1,000 measles cases reported across the U.S., health officials are issuing a warning as you make your summer travel plans.

The United States is experiencing a significant measles outbreak, with over 1,000 cases reported across 30 states, marking the highest number of cases since 1992. This surge is attributed to declining vaccination rates and increased travel, raising concerns as summer travel season approaches. Health officials are urging people to ensure they are vaccinated, especially before traveling internationally, as measles is highly contagious and can spread rapidly in unvaccinated populations. The CDC recommends that children receive their first dose of the MMR vaccine between 12 and 15 months of age, with a second dose between 4 and 6 years.
