A recent outbreak of listeria has been linked to food sold at airports, hotels, and convenience stores across the United States, prompting a warning from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The outbreak, which has affected at least 16 people in 13 states, is believed to be connected to individually wrapped sandwiches and other ready-to-eat foods. The CDC has advised those who have recently traveled and consumed such foods to monitor for symptoms of listeriosis, which can include fever, muscle aches, and gastrointestinal issues. The investigation into the source of the contamination is ongoing, with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) working to identify the specific products involved.
